ANOTHER UPDATE: My family has yet to hear from now, multiple relatives. I just keep praying that they decided to get out of there at the last minute. Eighty percent of Mississippi is without power and the contact person my mother was able to reach up until early yesterday morning, no longer has phone service. I spent yesterday wringing my hands and in tears. The next few days are going to be difficult, so just bear with me.
But I would like to keep a promise I made, so here we go:
Tom and I have cyber-known each other since about January I believe. His blog has always kept me entertained and made me think. He won last weeks 'Caption This' and I promised the winner I would link them on Wednesday, a very high traffic day for me because of Cotillion. Well, Katrina cancelled Cotillion but Tom still receives his prize. Every Mondayish, Tom writes an excellent satire called "Who's News". I have linked these before because I find them hilarious and his last one was perfect; so mosey on over to his place and read this one. It is once again, a classic, I don't know how he manages to wow me everytime. Oh, and make sure you add the guy to your Blogroll, he more than deserves it.
I JUST SPOKE WITH MY MOTHER AND EVERYONE HAS NOW BEEN ACCOUNTED FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!! But much property has been lost.
Posted by Stacy at August 31, 2005 10:41 AM | TrackBackWow, kind of a mixed blessing, Stacy. I appreciate the link, but of course all else pales in comparison to finding out the fate of your loved ones.
Good luck and keep us posted whenever you can.

Posted by: Jeff H at August 31, 2005 11:46 AMOh Stacy - I am so relieved for you - prayers have definitely been answered. I kept checking here since yesterday to see if there were any updates. God bless you and yours!
Posted by: Valerie at August 31, 2005 11:53 AMThank you so much everyone for your prayers. It has been so difficult not knowing anything. My mother and I discussed how in this era, we just can't do the non-communication thing. We are all now incapable of dealing with lack of information. Somebody e-mail right now-see? LOL But really the lack of supplies is something we are still concerned about. The government needs to step it up a bit and start some drop shipments.
