Now that wrestling season is

Now that wrestling season is over, I feel lost on the weekends. There are no more excuses to blow off projects. And......most everyone sucks, I desperately needed to be entertained and had so few participants, oh well. My most embarrassing moments were not mentioned, they all involved alcohol. I have never been guilty of drinking and driving, but in my young and stupid days I did my fair share of drinking. Never again. Last night we went out to eat after watching the state high-school wrestling semi-finals (okay so wrestling's not quite done) and a family that came in just before us had an incredibly heavy mother. The restaurant originally seated the family in a booth, but this woman was so large she couldn't fit and they moved to a table. Sitting at this table, she used two chairs. I watched her eat an appetizer, a large main course and a dessert while I struggled to finish my one 'healthy choice' course.

Now I am somewhat perplexed regarding my own feelings towards obese women. On one hand I am disgusted by their lack of concern for their health and their appearance, and on the other hand I am amazed at their strength to not give in to social peer pressure. With society shoving the 'ideal image' for women down our throats one would have to be very confident, strong and courageous to look back at the rest of us and say "forget all of you, you are not going to tell me how to look and I am strong enough to be happy with who I am". So yes, I am somewhat envious of these women. But, I care enough about what my husband thinks of me, and what my children think of me to be enslaved to the 'ideal image'. Genuinely confused within my own cerebrum.

The thing I'm not confused about today? (Drum Rolllllllllllllllllllllllll) It's official, Howard Dean is the new chair for the DNC. This is the kind of day a hopeful little Republican girl dreams of her whole life!!!!! The compassionate side of me has a suggestion though; we need to pool our money together and purchase our friends across the aisle some new shovels. They wore all of theirs out and with Dean in at the DNC they need to be restocked. WooHoo!!!!!!
