Out For The Day

I swear our wrestling club is cursed. Not quite two years ago we lost two of our wrestlers, young boys, 7 & 8, and one of their mothers in a car accident. And today? We are headed off to a funeral for one of our wrestler's dad. He was killed in a motorcycle accident. Wear your helmets people, wear your helmets.

That's so sad, I'm guessing the wrestling club is a kids club, which makes this some child's deceased parent. That is tragic.

Love on that boy! He needs it! I appreciate your intention with the helmet remark. However, I must add: Pay attention, pay attention! That goes for riders and drivers.

No one knows the exact story, there was no one else around. Most are guessing that on the stretch he was driving, that he was probably going to fast on a corner and grabbed too much front brake. He hadn't had the bike for long so wasn't really aware of how to ride. In seeing him yesterday, I highly doubt a helmet would have done much. His internal injuries were probably so severe that that would have killed him as well. It was pretty bad, we were surprised that they chose an open casket. But it's very sad. He and his wife were happily married and had the ideal family life.

Truly tragic, I'm so sorry. I'll keep his family in my prayers.

I've ridden motorcycles a couple of times, with guys who were very good at it and I wasn't scared (that much). I can see why it's so appealing - it's very exciting and invigorating. But... a good friend lost her sister and brother in law in a motorcycle accident. Another friend was killed when he wrecked his. Since then I've just not been able to get on one. I know cars are dangerous too, but... motorcycles seem to ride closer to the edge, with a narrower margin for error.
