As many of you know, I loathe NOW. I have never been able to understand this organizations ideology. They indoctrinate the women of America with the belief that on demand abortion is more important than any other women's rights. They have a ridiculous caricature of President Bush on their homepage and yet this president has done more for women than any other in history. How can any woman, especially women who make their living by purporting women's rights, be against President Bush? In the course of 2 short years, he has brought the women of Iraq what took about 150 years in the United States. Not only were women allowed to vote in this election, they were allowed to be candidates, MIND-BLOWING!!!! In a society known for it's repression of and out-right criminal acts against women it is unfathomable what has been accomplished in just a few years. I watched their joyous faces, the smiles, the tears, it was like witnessing a new birth. I am exhilarated by what this war has brought about. I am overjoyed that my fellow women in Iraq now have freedom and rights. The numerous stories of individuals quite literally dodging gunfire to vote, walking many miles to vote, carrying elders on their backs to vote, their lives and the lives of their children being threatened if they voted, is completely humbling. Where are you NOW? What is your opinion on the women of Iraq being free and equal to their male counterparts thanks to President Bush? Huh?
How sad it must be to not know what is right and what is wrong; to make judgments that promote hypocrisy. The only thing that confused me today is whether Michael Jackson is really guilty or not.
God (Allah) bless Iraq; God bless my nephew Ben fighting in Iraq; God bless President Bush and his ability to recognize and confront reality; and God bless The United States of America!!
