Got your attention? Thought so. Judging from my commenters I'm guessing that most of my readers are men. That would be appropriate for me being that my entire life revolves around the opposite gender. My husband, our three sons, our activities, I myself even have male friends. I felt that this subject would be an appropriate one to touch knowing how it affects so many.

I personally loathe porn of all types, be it magazines, movies or strip clubs. I find it disgusting, degrading to my gender and somewhat barbaric. But I am also aware that the brains of men and their sex drives function differently than that of women. (Again, Lawrence Summers, Harvard president, you are correct.) Now I have known women who have absolutely no issues at all with their men viewing porn, but these women are a small minority.

To simply reverse this and ask "how would you feel if your wife/girlfriend enjoyed viewing male porn?" is not quite appropriate. Men do not feel threatened in the same manner that women do with regards to porn. So to better help you understand this battle I'm sharing an analogy with you that hit me one day. This would be a better translation for you boys to understand.

How would you feel if your wife/girlfriend said the following to you: "Honey, you provide a good living for us, but I need more. So there's this guy that I met that makes more money than you do. Now I'm not going to leave you for him or even sleep with him. I'm just going to spend some time with him and let him take me out to eat and buy me stuff, maybe jewelry or something. There will probably be times that when we are having sex that I'll be thinking of him, but it's you that I'm staying with."

Chew on that for a while.
