What is CodePink? CODEPINK is

What is CodePink?

CODEPINK is a women initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement that seeks positive social change through proactive, creative protest and non-violent direct action.

" We call on women around the world to rise up and oppose the war in Iraq. We call on mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and daughters, on workers, students, teachers, healers, artists, writers, singers, poets and every ordinary outraged woman willing to be outrageous for peace. Women have been the guardians of life, not because we are better or purer or more innately nurturing than men, but because the men have busied themselves making war. Because of our responsibility to the next generation, because of our own love for our families and communities and this country that we are a part of, we understand the love of a mother in Iraq for her children and the driving desire of that child for life" (Statement from CodePink)

MAJOR REGIONAL MOBILIZATION AND CODEPINK ACTION IN SAN DIEGO, CA
The World Says End the War! Bring the Troops Home Now! Rebuild our Communities!Camp Pendleton Marine base, one of the largest bases in the country, has suffered a tragic number of casualties in the ongoing war and occupation of Iraq.

CODEPINK Peace Procession "We cannot walk a mile in their shoes but we can walk 40 for them"

CODEPINK will honor the devastating loss of these troops with a peaceful 40 mile, three day procession. Walk with us on March 17th, 18th and 19th as we walk from Oceanside, home of Camp Pendleton, to the massive rally at Balboa Park where we will unite with the San Diego Coalition for Peace and Justice to mark the second anniversary of the war in Iraq.

SOMEONE GET ME A BUCKET, I'M GOING TO BE SICK!!! For those of you familiar with this organization, you know that they are constantly doing these protest marches. Today, they have chosen to protest outside of Camp Pendleton. Camp Pendleton, without doubt, contains our nation's bravest, most dedicated men. These women are disrespectful of the men and women that protect their sorry, worthless asses. Hey CodePink, war is a reality, it always has been, it always will be. There will always be an evil individual who wants to kill, steal and destroy. That individual is usually a man and praise God that we have men with great fortitude willing to protect us!

The band Styx was definitely ahead of it's time, Tommy Shaw wrote a song just for CodePink a long time ago. It goes a little something like this:

Too Much Time On My Hands

Sitting on this barstool talking like a damn fool got the twelve o'clock news blues. And I've given up hope on the afternoon soaps, and a bottle of cold brew.
Is it any wonder I'm not crazy? Is it any wonder I'm sane at all.
Well I'm so tired of losing- I got nothing to do and all day to do it.
I go out cruisin' but I've no place to go and all night to get there. Is it any wonder I'm not a criminal? Is it any wonder I'm not in jail?

Is it any wonder I've got too much time on my hands, it's ticking away with my sanity,
I've got too much time on my hands, it's hard to believe such a calamity,
I've got too much time on my hands and it's ticking away from me,
Too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands

Well, I'm a jet fuel genius - I can solve the world's problems, without even trying,
I have dozens of friends and the fun never ends, that is, as long as I'm buying,
Is it any wonder I'm not the president, is it any wonder I'm null and void?

Is it any wonder I've got too much time on my hands, it's ticking away at my sanity,
I've got too much time on my hands, it's hard to believe such a calamity,
I've got too much time on my hands and it's ticking away from me,
too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands

Oh yea, these chicks have far too much time on their hands!
