Stacy's Stuff

New category, new weekly feature.

In my 37 years there are many little things I've picked up here and there; hints by Heloise kind of stuff. So, in order to maybe make things a little better for all of us, I'm going to share those in this weekly feature now. If you have some kind of tip you would like to share, e-mail me and I'll do a post pointing out you and your blog. I hope this doesn't flop, because honestly? I'm still sick of blogging. This will be an extended entry thing.

To clean stainless steel appliances -

Using a lint-free rag, spray appliance with Pledge (yes, Pledge) and wipe with the grain until completely absorbed. Test in an inconspicuous area first. Oh, and if you have wood floors, make sure the spray DOES NOT get on the floor. You'll go for a nasty ride straight down and break something.

Pledge? What is Pledge? ;)

You mean, I'm not just supposed to use something until it's so dirty it won't work anymore, then throw it away and buy another one?

Sheesh, who knew?

Here's a little one. Newspaper cleans glass very well. If I think of a really good one, I'll email it to you.

What is this rag and Pledge that you speak of?

The newspaper one is good too. Also the paper wrapped around fragile items is equally as good.

You boys trying to make me feel stupid? Really I can't think of anything to say that isn't already on everyone else's page. Perhaps I should have stayed in retirement.

Absolutely not! You're always original! I've actually got one or two I may send to you...

Pledge is when people promise to send you money but they never do so you can't count them...

409 Spray will help you dissolve and wipe away those numbers that they write on your windshield with a yellow grease crayon down at the impound lot when your parking tickets catch up with you.

Sorry, we were on Silly Thursday time.

Actually, my best secret is to get auto glass cleaner from the auto supply places. It works wonders on glass at home.
