I recently read this article and was taken aback by this information. I mean, after all, it's almost 2006. Where the hell are the women's rights groups with this one? I thought both genders were equal; I thought that this was the kind of thing that groups such as NOW fought for; right?!?! Oh wait, forgive me; they're busy marching for abortions on both males and females.
Posted by Stacy at December 29, 2005 06:29 PM | TrackBackFunding (according to Hillary) has been cut for the contraception funding programs....now the "B" is complaining that this will lead to more abortions.....Excuse me, Mrs. Wannabe Prez, isn't that what you wanted...lotsa abortions?
Posted by: Maggie at December 29, 2005 10:39 PMOh, dear Lord. I can't think of anything else to say. My heart is broken. How can we as caring human beings allow this to happen? Are we raising our children to believe that girls are not worth anything? AHHHH! I have to go and hold my daugther and tell her again how important she is to this world. I'll comment more when I am not so angry.
Posted by: scmommy at December 29, 2005 11:29 PMIt is just sick.
Posted by: bigwhitehat at December 30, 2005 01:18 AMStacy: How can you stop blogging if you keep on throwing things like this at us??? I've never been able to figure out NOW's stance on abortion, because if we are supposed to be protecting rights, we need to be focused on protecting the rights of the most vulnerable among us - the unborn.
Anyway, I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year. Take care.
Posted by: Valerie at December 31, 2005 01:48 PMStacy, Just in case it might make a difference, I check what you have to say all the time. I wish I could find a woman exactly because we'd get along perfectly. That is; a Christian woman who isn't "holier than thou," acknowledges as much, then slugs it out with this culture. Even if it means you post infrequently and take breaks as much as you feel like it, please consider staying in the fight. It matters and you make a difference. Thank you.

My bad. I post and then review. Oops. "exactly like you," that is.
Posted by: at December 31, 2005 04:17 PMI'm a parent, love my child like you wouldn't believe, but not everyone is cut out for this. I don't think any of us that have children view abortion as a front line in contraception, but I regularly thank whatever diety I believe in, that the procedure is available and safe. BTW, feminism is about equal pay for equal work.
Posted by: Chuck at January 1, 2006 06:10 PMI wish I could agree with you Chuck, but not gonna happen. Feminism began as equal pay for equal work, and also equality in the courtroom, etc. That is no longer where it is. Equality by in large has occurred but has now left the feminist with nothing to do. So in order to continue their self-importance they choose to make abortion their clarion call. Realistcally, there is NO threat to abortion rights. Even as a 'radical right winger' I do not want R v W overturned. It just won't happen no matter who is sitting on the Supreme Court. Rest easy, the 1.3 million abortions that occur in this nation every year isn't going anywhere.
Posted by: Stacy at January 1, 2006 07:31 PMStacy, good to see you're still going to contribute from time to time. I wonder what the abortion-rights fascists will say about this report. After all, it's their future constituency that's dropping like flies before they even have a chance to appear.
Happy New Year to you and yours!
NOW should change its name to AOD: Abortion on Demand. It's the ONLY thing they care about.
