Hell they eat snails. What do you expect?

Things like this aren't specific to the French, as I'm sure you're aware.

I saw that story a while back, and couldn't bring myself to look at the pictures.

We've all seen photos of baby seals being clubbed, we know that there's people who abuse animals, there's all sorts of horrors occurring in this world we can't begin to fathom. And some of them are happening to human beings.

I can't begin to understand how a sentient being could knowingly do the things you described. I cannot imagine being capable of such things unless your heart is thoroughly hardened.

Then again, I know people raised on farms for whom drowning kittens and puppies is commonplace. Where death is a part of daily life.

Like I commented a while back, Stacy: ours is the only planet known to harbor life, and we have such a ridiculous abundance of it that it's cheap. Other planets will never see the likes of a puppy, but here on earth they're so plentiful we can use them as bait with which to lure then kill other creatures.

I don't understand. I don't want to understand. It makes me nauseous to imagine it occurring, let alone see pictures of it.

My gentle bride has told me stories about feeding puppies and kittens to pit bulls in order to get them fiesty right before they have an illegal dog fight. There's lots of money to be had gambling on dog fights. Supposedly it's common in south Georgia, but I haven't heard of it up here around Atlanta.

It's been shown that those that would do so much harm and behave so cruelly to small animals end up, later in life, as serial killers of humans.

There needs to be a special prison, and a special place in Hell, for these people.

As Admin Worm said, "I can't begin to understand how a sentient being could knowingly do the things you described." It's comforting to know that those animals will be in Heaven while those people will be some place else.
