Too Pooped To Party

Well, we've all been staying up too late chit-chatting. This weeks dance has been cancelled, so, sorry; no dance cards this time around. But a few things for you:

About a month or so ago, Carol (from An American Housewife) shut down her blog, took a deep breathe and decided she wanted to approach her blogging differently. To all those who were fans of hers she has a new locale. You can find her at The Gray Tie. It's been nice having her back and she has returned to her no-bs blogging.

I am considering quitting the blog thing myself. Because of the growth of my blog, I have been ignoring more important matters. I receive a decent amount of hits for a little ol' page like mine and have gotten caught up in the numbers. I don't like that. I will most likely take this weekend off again and access where I'm going with my blog. I miss my old life and not having to deal with the idiocy of trolls would be nice.

And something important for everyone to know, even those with blogs on the left:

If you ever quit your blog, DO NOT LET GO OF YOUR URL! Web addresses that receive good traffic, and have been abandoned by their owners are often snatched up and used by others trying to jump ahead in line. I use to frequent a blog by a student in Texas; she recently started college and left behind her conservative blog. The URL was picked up by someone promoting gay porn and I know that she is most likely upset by this. I still have control of my Blogger address and I on occasion post something in order to keep that address active. As I said, this is for the left as well. If you have a URL that promotes a liberal democrat ideology, you also do not want it used by someone who you disagree with. Now that's fair and balanced guys.

I'll check back in later, I have something rather large to get off my chest. Take care.

Stacy: Is there anything I can say to encourage you to stay with your blogging? Even if you had to cut back some, that's far better than stopping all together! I, for one, would miss you horribly - even though I've only known you for a few months. Take your time, think it through, say soome prayers, but PLEASE don't leave us high and dry!

Don't give it up! Just cut back. Everyone is getting busy. A bunch of us are long between posts. Your real life is more important. But, blogging is good for you. It keeps you sharp. And your damn good at it.

When you say your thinking of quitting it makes me think you have important stuff to do. I don't know what that is but I hope you know many of us care. You go take care of business. I for one support you.

Thanks Stacy, much appreciated!

I THOUGHT that was her "The Grey Tie" -- the picture looked familiar and she hit my site with comments out of the blue ... thanks for letting me know.

Blog as you want, when you feel like it. I do and it works. I also drug my best friend into it by allowing her to post when she feels like it.

I also take Sunday's off. Just put out a OTB post and then enjoy my day.

Stick around --

Well who is that anonymous masogynistic homo Eugene going to pick on now? And...why does my husband keep mumbling about buying a ticket to Vancouver and taking our whole week's supply of woop ass as carry on?

Yeah...I said Homo. Sorry Stacy. This is probably why you are quitting.

Don't go Stacy!!! Do not go gentle into that good night!

I must admit, I would be a bit loathe to port Think Sink over to another platform/URL. I've put a good bit of effort into "branding" it where it's at. Plus, I'm cheap, and Blogger's free.

Hey, do what you must in terms of "real life". Blogging still is a side-light for most of us.

But, please, don't quit. I'm selfish that way...

Well, you have to do what you think is right for you and your family, but we will miss you and we don't think that what you're doing here is unimportant. You earned the traffic, Stacy. Good luck.

Would hate to see you go, but I understand.

I've had to let some things go recently in order to maintain my sanity. I don't begrudge you doing the same thing.

Good luck, Stacy. tb

I hope you don't totally leave us now that I'm just starting to know you a bit. Your feistiness reminds me of what attracted me to my spouse (along with a Christian faith).

However, I think you've got your priorities right in recognizing a need to set boundaries so that family comes first. Blogs come and go, but families are for life.

Nonetheless, I would hope that you can continue to do some blogging. As a parent of a 14 and 16 year old, I know that it's all too easy to get caught up in one's small world of schlepping kids, housework, and keeping financially afloat so as to lose contact with the larger world around us outside of our networks. I think blogging can represent a balancing force and counterweight to help preserve that larger perspective on the world.

Best wishes.

I've just discovered you (you said nice things to me on one of the exiles threads) and it would be a shame to see you go.

I post NOTHING on weekends. I don't even turn on the computer, just play with the kids etc.

Another thing that helps is that I'm on a 4 person blog, If I'm not up to it the other guys pick up the slack.
Find a like minded person to guest blog.
Big numbers are great for the ego and fun, but ther's more to life.
