Some FYI's

Like the new look? I LOVE IT!!!

A few things for y'all to know.

I was never fond of the girl I had up before. In my opinion she was too scantily clad but she was the only image at Getty that was close to what I was shooting for. I discovered this last time around that when you search for images there, it's not good to be specific. I went through almost 5,000 images this last time and found one that Darlene manipulated for me. She originally suggested that we use the same girl, because she somewhat looked like me, and put some things around her. My first question to Darlene was "Can we put some clothes on her?" I live my personal life dressing very modestly and it always bothered me that that girl was partially undressed. I had a troll call me on this early today, ironically RIGHT before it was changed, and I felt that I wanted to not only post a comment regarding it but do this post as well. If the girl ever returns, she will be dressed because now I know that Darlene can do this for me.

Second, a code was added for the comment section. Users of IE have had difficulty with the remember me code working, it never worked for me either. The Movable Type software that MuNu uses has some type of glitch in it and they created a code that is suppose to solve this problem. If you have any difficulties with it not working, e-mail me or leave a comment and I will try once again to get it resolved.

I guess that's it for now, hope you all are enjoying the new look as much as I am.

I love the new look. You went all earth-toney like my new look. The previous lady was a little risque. I had to explain to my wife what I was looking at a couple weeks ago when she asked: "Why are you reading about desperate housewives?" :)

Posted by: Tony at September 21, 2005 12:54 PM

Excellent, I really like the change.

Posted by: BobG at September 21, 2005 01:07 PM

Very nice and welcome change, Stacy. I hope you take this as I mean it, but I had delinked you during "Explicit Week" (I try to keep the Pantheon of Links safe-for-work). This refit gives me the opportunity to properly welcome you back. I'll take care of it later tonight if Blogger cooperates (lately it hasn't).

BTW, I'm the sort of guy that finds modesty in dress very alluring: it implies that the dresser in question knows the true value of what others give away freely. Bravissima on the new image.

While checking your site at work previously, it was habit to scroll down quickly so a wayward glance from a co-worker didn't reveal the scantily-clad female on your site.

I like the autumnal look, and the woman pictured now looks very refined and confident. Nice job.

Posted by: Admin Worm at September 21, 2005 01:46 PM

You guys should have told me that it was a problem. Now I feel bad. Never again, never again.

Posted by: Stacy at September 21, 2005 01:53 PM

This looks great! The previous pic just did not match your writing. Great job.

Posted by: scmommy at September 21, 2005 02:50 PM

Still feeling REALLY BAD!! I wish I was Catholic, they have quick cures for that.

Posted by: Stacy at September 21, 2005 03:05 PM

Great new look! It is more becoming of your work.

Posted by: Karen at September 21, 2005 04:07 PM

I love it, too! Darlene does wonderful work, doesn't she? Sometimes I go to my blog just to look at the new blogskin which she created.

Hey - I'm Catholic - do you want me to absolve you?

Posted by: Valerie at September 21, 2005 04:46 PM

Yes Valerie, the whole rosary beads and prayer thing I think would bring much comfort. Although I have complete faith that God will comfort and forgive my non-denominational soul, I do sometimes wish I had a rosary.

Posted by: Stacy at September 21, 2005 04:57 PM

I like the new look a lot. It reminds me of the autumns that we don't get to enjoy around here. Growing up in Pennsylvania, autumn was always my favorite time of year, especially when the leaves were changing colors.

Echoing Tony, Nightfly, and Admin Worm's comments, I too had felt awkward to be reading your blog when my wife or children would come into the room. Problem solved; thank you.

I like your bodyguard on a leash. You sure look like one of Kinsey Milhorne's colleagues. Any relation perhaps?

Posted by: civil truth at September 21, 2005 05:12 PM

The new look is great! But I think I liked the green more than the new ochre-ish background.

As to fullness of dress, I've always felt that what isn't shown can be far more alluring than what is. Witness the cheerleaders; when I was in high school (63-66 -- I'm old!), cheerleaders wore bulky sweaters, and woolen skirts, and were about as sexy as we could tolerate . The new costumes leave so little to the imagination as to provoke early onset ennui....

VALERIE, AM I ABSOLVED YET?!?!?!?!?!?

Posted by: Stacy at September 21, 2005 06:45 PM

Pfft! I liked the old pic. Now I have to worry about my co-workers wondering why I'm looking at such a girly website... :)

On the other topic, If you are over 21, you can dress and do and put whatever you want on your website...

Posted by: von at September 21, 2005 06:57 PM

Stacy,

I make rosaries. Send me your snailmail and I'll send you one.

Posted by: Tony at September 21, 2005 07:07 PM

You are so totally cool Tony, I'll e-mail you an address. :)

Posted by: Stacy at September 21, 2005 07:12 PM

I just hung up the phone with you and I thought I'd leave a message before I left the site. Your designer did a great job with the leaves and the colors chosen for the body of the blog. Enjoy.

Posted by: Darlene at September 21, 2005 07:43 PM

Yup, yup, yup, love the new look!

Posted by: The Gray Tie at September 21, 2005 08:39 PM

Love it!

Posted by: jae at September 21, 2005 09:08 PM

Looking good sweetie. And just letting you know, I'm back to normal. Hope everything is well.

Love it Stacy!

{tried to post this comment from work earlier, but they've put a filter on that blocks most blogs--but only comments here}

Well, it's officially autumn as of tomorrow, so it's about time she got some clothes on.

Nice new look; fall colors, of course.

I like the new look. Does the dog bite?

Posted by: CD at September 21, 2005 10:37 PM

Very fallsy, but then where you are you actually have such a season. Pretty soon my blogroll will be filled up by Dar's creations.

Posted by: Nettie at September 21, 2005 10:44 PM

Stacy - It took me so long to reply because I had to say many, many rosaries to absolve you and your "sinful ways"!
Actually - you are the one who has to do the work to get absolution, so when you get your rosary from Tony, send me an e-mail and I'll help you learn the prayers that go along with it.

Posted by: Valerie at September 21, 2005 11:04 PM

It looks grand! Love the colors. Really love the doggie!!

Posted by: Claire at September 21, 2005 11:39 PM

LOL, I'm a Catholic. It may be simple, but it's not a "quick cure"! As far as absolution, well, you swapped the template for one more in keeping with your character; and my re-linking worked. Viola!

Posted by: Nightfly at September 22, 2005 01:48 AM

I'll have to disagree with everybody. I'll miss the old look. I understand the skimpy thing but I'm going to miss those sexy eyes.

Posted by: bigwhitehat at September 22, 2005 09:34 AM

I like the new look, Stacy. Very classy, very fall-themed. Do you have a dog like that?

We're here waiting to see if Waco gets hit by Rita. I put up a post today on it. No, I'm not going away -- at least I don't think. It's just been a weird time.

Posted by: Muley at September 22, 2005 10:12 AM

No, no dog. I would love to have a dog but we've had bad luck with them. But if I had a dog, I'd take it for a walk.

Posted by: Stacy at September 22, 2005 10:43 AM

Stacy:

New look is great, and so much more "right." Have to admit the previous graphic, juxtaposed to the photo of you was a little...distracting. Got to say, though, that landscape is certainly not Coloradan...

Keep up the good work, lady.

Posted by: Beast7 at September 22, 2005 12:51 PM

Nope. Still want those eyes back.

Posted by: bigwhitehat at September 22, 2005 04:29 PM

I WANT THE LUSTY LADY BACK!!! :-)

Love your blog.

Posted by: Ken at September 22, 2005 05:43 PM

Oooh, I love the new look! Fall is my favorite season, I love the leaves and sweater-wearing. Alas, here in San Diego, we get none of that. Glad to enjoy to autumn look when I visit your site now.

Posted by: Kristi at September 22, 2005 08:16 PM

I guess you're not a Sue Grafton fan. Sue's been writing an alphabet series since 1983. You should be able to find her books at a library. The first was called A is for Alibi. She's closing in on "S" now; I'm rooting for her to finish the alphabet. I think you'd like them.

Sorry CT, I only read non-fiction, bummer huh? I'm hoping one day when I calm down I can settle into a good book that's not related to politics, history or religion.
