I spent this Martin Luther

I spent this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day pondering his accomplishments and contemplating where our nation would be had he not been killed. Several times today I heard his "I Have A Dream" speech and was covered in goosebumps each time. The man had an ability to touch one's soul and my admiration and respect for Dr. King is immeasurable.

Being that my parents were from the south I was exposed to racism early on. They made sure that we were not influenced by the bigotry of the south, but inevitably it was there. On one occasion when visiting my aunt and uncle's house, I was watching 'The Jefferson's' on television when my uncle walked into the room and started yelling.
