My husband is in training for the Old Timer's Tournament next month. (Wrestling of course, what other sport is there?) Rather than sitting down with his usual bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups he has chosen to gnaw on beef jerky instead. He went on the internet and ordered about a half dozen different brands. My children love all of this jerky but have taken sampling it to the next level. They have been spending the past week and a half testing the whipping capabilities of all the different jerkies. The more dry brands have been left mostly untouched by them, not because they're dry, but because they don't whip well. I hear it throughout our home; the actual whip followed by the "Oww"; they are leaving red marks on each other.
Now having three sons I have witnessed some incredibly gruesome things over the years. They are always hitting each other (boys do that, you can't do anything about it), pushing, depanting, etc. I am continuously fussing at my 14 year-old for hitting my 8 year-old, but my little one is now telling me "it's okay, I can take it". This journey with them has never been boring, repetitive, but not boring.
Enjoy your children, and if you have no children to enjoy, enjoy someone else's. It's definitely an experience all should have, jerky whips and all.
